SDCC Photos

We spent about a day-and-a-half at the Con, and had a great time. We just went as attendees as a part of a vacation in southern California.
It's really, really, really big. Exhibit floor alone is 525,701 square feet (a football field is 57,600 square feet). More than last year's 104,000 attendees were expected (the city of Santa Fe has around 62,000 people, 140,000 in the "greater metropolitan" area). So a lot of the photos are of people in costume, 'cause that's easier than trying to capture the whole experience.
Pictures are at Flickr.

Get Your Voice Out!
a workshop on producing comics
July 17-28 (Monday-Friday) | 10:00 am-2:00 pmSanta Fe Art Institute | Santa Fe, NM
Enrique Martinez and the Baaadassss Comics Collective
This workshop will touch on all the information in the first workshop in addition to providing a general insight into every aspect of producing comics. Students will learn every stage that goes into creating a tangible product such as Layout and Mock-up, Cut and paste, Copying and typesetting, Format and General Book Design, Distribution and pricing. This workshop will focus on getting the student's comics from finished art to having a ready to present product as well as fine art aspects and display ideas. Students will come away with a broad, but not overwhelming, sense of how to get a finished comic into readers' hands or how to display their work in other mediums.
