Panel to Panel: Creating Comics at Harwood
Panel to Panel: Creating Comics | 11:00- 1:00 | Saturdays, June 14-August 23 (no class July 5) | Harwood Art Center | Albuquerque, NMStudents will work together to create comics, through exercises designed to explore the different forms of collaboration, and pair up to complete a story. The many aspects of comic book production will be explored, including scripting, layout, penciling, inking, mock-up, cut and paste, digital elements, and traditional and non-traditional format and book design.
The workshop will take place at The Harwood Art Center, 1114 7th Street NW in Albuquerque.
$150 per student, need-based scholarships available. Ages 14 and up.

7000 BC will have a table at the new Albuquerque Collector Con, presented by Planet X Toys and Comics. Admission is $1 for the day or $5, if you want to get in at 9:00. We'll have comics from the group, including issues of our new anthology string, and be signing our comics and doing sketches.

Writing for Comics at
Young Writer's Conference
Young Writer's Conference | Saturday, June 7 | 9:00-3:00 | UNM Student Union Building | Albuquerque, NMMichael and Peter will be teaching a seminar on Writing for Comics as a part of the Young Writer's Conference, an opportunity for writers ages 10-17 to spend a day in the company of writers and publishers. The comics writing workshop runs from 10:30-noon.
The cost for the whole event is $55 and includes keynote, workshops, and a boxed lunch register online here.
